Professional Pharmacy Student Organization

PPSO Logo The School of Pharmacy voted, by both faculty and students in 2001, to create an umbrella of all the Professional Pharmacy organizations available to its students. These organizations include The American Pharmacists Association (APhA), American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA), and Washington State Pharmacists Association (WSPA).

The School of Pharmacy felt that by creating this umbrella structure, we can begin the process of making the career of pharmacy a more unified profession. Incorporating the clinical, legislative, community and state aspects of pharmacy enables each student to become aware of the many facets pharmacy has to offer. This unified organization will provide each student the opportunity to be educated in all areas of pharmacy and bring that unified ideal to the entire pharmacy profession.

Our mission as a Professional organization is to introduce the pharmacy student to the profession of pharmacy as a unified entity. We will accomplish this by bringing speakers from all the areas of pharmacy to the student, encouraging the student to attend national conventions, having literature available regarding each profession, and bringing our knowledge to the public through various education and clinical outreach events.
